Additional Services

System Takeovers

Already have a system managed by someone else or no cover at all? We can take over the management and maintenance of any commercial system regardless of who installed it or what condition it is in.

Reactive Maintenance

When something goes wrong we respond. Our approved partners cover fault investigation and repair for both SolaraConnect managed systems and third party installations across the UK.

The Process

Simple from the start

Getting your system under managed care shouldn't be complicated. Here's how we work.

1

Initial Consultation

We find out about your system — size, age, current condition, and what you need. No commitment, no jargon.

2

System Assessment

We carry out or arrange an initial condition check to establish a baseline and identify any immediate actions needed.

3

Tailored Package

We put together an O&M package that fits your system and your budget. No one size fits all contracts.

4

Ongoing Management

We take it from there. Scheduled maintenance, reactive cover, performance reporting — all through one point of contact.

Why It Matters

The cost of doing nothing

Commercial solar systems are built to last 25+ years — but without regular maintenance, faults go undetected, generation drops, and your return on investment quietly erodes.

Lost Generation = Lost Revenue

An underperforming inverter, a faulty DC string or a shaded module can reduce output by 10–20% without triggering an obvious alarm. Over a year, that's thousands of pounds in lost savings or export income you'll never recover.

Warranty Protection

Most equipment warranties require evidence of regular professional maintenance. Skipping your annual PPM can void the cover you're relying on — leaving you exposed if a major component fails outside the warranty period.

Insurance Compliance

Most commercial insurers now align their requirements with Solar Energy UK's recommended inspection frequency. An annual PPM by a qualified engineer isn't just good practice — for many policies, it's a condition of cover.

Safety & Due Diligence

Electrical faults in PV systems are a known fire risk. Regular thermal imaging and electrical testing identifies developing defects early — giving you documented evidence of due diligence and peace of mind that your system is safe.

Solar Energy UK recommends annual PPM for all commercial installations.

Most commercial insurers have now aligned their requirements with this standard.

FAQs

Common questions

A few things commercial clients usually ask before getting started.

Yes — this is one of our most common enquiries. We offer full system takeovers for commercial solar installations regardless of who originally installed them. We start with a condition assessment to establish a baseline and build an O&M plan from there.

Solar Energy UK recommends annual planned preventative maintenance for commercial installations, and most insurers now align with this standard. Systems over 500kW may need more frequent attention. We'll advise on the right frequency for your specific system.

We manage and coordinate all works through our network of approved maintenance partners — MCS and NICEIC accredited engineers selected for their technical expertise and track record. You deal with us as your single point of contact and we handle the rest.

We work exclusively in the commercial space — typically systems from around 30kWp upwards. Whether you have a single rooftop installation or a portfolio of sites, we can put together a package to suit.

Asset management goes beyond maintenance visits. It covers performance monitoring and reporting, warranty and documentation management, compliance oversight, maintenance budget planning, and regular performance reviews — treating your solar system as the long term financial asset it is.
